Our History
- We started up in 1996 to support the Voluntary and Community sector in Derwentside.
- The first thing CVS did was to apply for money to create a Volunteer Bureau.
- CVS is a registered Charity. We are going through the process of becoming an Incorporated Charity.
- We are run by a committee of local people and have 4 members of staff
- We first established ourselves in the Louisa Centre and recently moved into the Tommy Armstrong Centre which we now manage.
